This painting is a story about a woman suffering from depression. A quote fro her story:
 
 "I don’t know how to describe the fog. It was black and thick and consumed me. It acted as a barrier from the outside world. There’s no way to describe how I felt. Everyone close to me tried. Some closest to me found they didn’t know how to take care of me and asked my mother to step in. Everyone tried. They thought they were saying the right things, trying to comfort me, but everything just went through me. I was tired of explaining myself to people who would never understand."
